POWER INDICATORS

LEDs provide a convenient visual check for +5V, -5V, +12V and +3.3V power connection and status.

CAUTION: When the power indicators are on do not install or remove the SBC or any option card from the BP1/1/2/4/4 backplane.

POWER CONNECTORS

The BP1/1/2/4/4 backplane is available with a vertical AT or ATX power connector. The power connection for +3.3V is available through a 12-pin .156 MTA connector or the optional ATX connector.

Additional power capacity is available through a .156 MTA connector.  Optional extended-current connectors are available to provide additional power capacity for power-intensive applications -- up to 60 Amps of +5V plus 60 Amps of +3.3V.

OPTION CARD SLOT DETAILS

PCI-X/PCI Slots
PCI1 –  PCI-X/PCI, 64-bit/133MHz
PCI2, PCI3– PCI-X/PCI, 64-bit/100MHz
PCI4, PCI5, PCI6, PCI7 – PCI-X/PCI, 64-bit/66MHz
PCI8, PCI9, PCI10, PCI11 – PCI, 64-bit/33MHz

Note: PCI-X/PCI slots support PCI-X and universal PCI option cards, (i.e. 5V/3.3V combo or 3.3V only). The bridge chip will throttle-down the bus interface speed to match any card that has a speed capability less than the supported bus interface speed of a specific PCI-X backplane slot.

See mechanical layout for detailed slot routing information.

MISCELLANEOUS BACKPLANE INFORMATION

PCI-TO-PCI BRIDGE
The PCI-to-PCI bridge supports the PCI Local Bus 2.1 specification. The BP1/1/2/4/4 backplane has bus mastering capabilities on all four PCI 64-bit/33MHz Local Bus Slots.

PCI-X BRIDGE
The PCI-X-to-PCI-X bridge eases the transition to PCI-X by supporting the PCI Local Bus as well as enabling 64-bit PCI-X architectures capable of running at speeds up to 133MHz at transfer rates up to 1GB/s. The bridge chip allows concurrent operations on both buses and is fully compliant with the PCI-X Addendum to the PCI Local Bus Specifications Revision 1.0 and the PCI Local Bus Specification 2.1.
