Description

The T4G is a cost-effective PICMG 1.0 SBC for low-end embedded computing applications. This SBC supports the Intel® 845GV chipset and the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor. Advanced video and graphics capabilities along with the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor enables the T4G to maximize system value and performance. Of course, all this comes with the quality and long-life embedded product support you expect from Trenton.

BIOS (FLASH)


The T4G uses AMIBIOS8®. The flash BIOS resides in the Firmware Hub (FWH). AMIBIOS8 contains features such as:

  • Support for flash devices for BIOS upgrading via floppy interface
  • Integrated support for USB mass storage devices such as CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-RW, etc.
  • Boot from network, USB mass storage devices, IDE, SCSI or ATAPI
  • Serial port console redirection to support headless operation
  • SATA/ATA/ATAPI support includes 48-bit LBA addressing to support SATA/ATA/IDE hard drive capacities over 137GB

The Intel® Pentium® 4 processor¡¯s power requirements created the need for an additional on-board 4-pin power connector (P24). This connector requires +12V from an external power supply that conforms to the ATX12V power specification.

This external power supply should have a minimum wattage rating of at least 250W. The T4G also requires that 3.3V be applied to the backplane from the power supply.

The system power supply must conform to the power sequencing specifications of ATX compliant power supplies. Voltage levels must be regulated within a range of +/- 5%.

MEMORY SLOT POPULATION


Memory modules can be installed in one or both DIMM sockets. If only one DIMM module is used, it should be populated in the top DIMM socket (Bank 2 - Bk2). If two modules of different speeds are used, the 845GV chipset sets the memory interface speed to the speed of the slower DIMM module. Registered DIMMs are not supported. All memory modules must have gold contacts. Only non-stacked DIMMs are supported by the SBC¡¯s chipset and BIOS.
