T4R |PICMG 1.0| Celeron Single Board Computer (SBC)
 


Description

Trenton's T4R is specifically designed to simplify upgrading older Intel® Pentium®, Intel Pentium® II or Intel® Pentium® III SBCs with a high performance Intel® Pentium® 4 or a Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor-M single board computer. The T4R generates its own +3.3V on board and provides the ability to route the +5V over to the +12V lines of the T4R's processor. These power control features enable the T4R for use as a simple drop-in SBC upgrade in PICMG® 1.0 embedded computing systems. BIOS (FLASH)


The T4R uses AMIBIOS8®. The flash BIOS resides in the Firmware Hub (FWH). AMIBIOS8 contains features such as:

  • Support for flash devices for BIOS upgrading via floppy interface
  • Integrated support for USB mass storage devices such as CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-RW, etc.
  • Boot from network, USB mass storage devices, IDE, SCSI or ATAPI
  • Serial port console redirection to support headless operation
  • SATA/ATA/ATAPI support includes 48-bit LBA addressing to support SATA/ATA/IDE hard drive capacities over 137GB

MEMORY SLOT POPULATION


Memory modules can be installed in one or both DIMM sockets. If only one DIMM module is used, it should be populated in the top DIMM socket (Bank 2 - Bk2). If two modules of different speeds are used, the 845E chipset sets the memory interface speed to the speed of the slower DIMM module. Registered DIMMs are not supported. All memory modules must have gold contacts.
